The Mexanines – Rocket (Official Video)

A lyrical structure taken straight out of the 12 bar blues, but a sound that is all indie; the new song from The Mexanines comes out of the gate like a ‘Rocket’ (ahem). The first of several singles on the way, it’s a rocking tune that somehow manages to be both typically British and all new at the same time.

With successful tours under their belts with the Pigeon Detectives and Embrace, and support slots with Graham Coxon, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Reverend and the Makers, the band have already built a live reputation to be proud of. Main stage appearances at Bingley Music Live and Kendal Calling Festivals, have all added to the bands live pedigree.

And now they have been joined in the studio by multi-platinum selling writer/producer Steve Chrisanthou, as they aim to capture that live energy on their recorded material.

Metaquorum – single ‘North Sea Fret’

Veteran musicians with a sense of mischief, duo Dmitry Ermakov and Koos Van Der Velde are a truly unique musical proposition. Offering their very own fusion of (often instrumental) funk, jazz, rock, and electronica, the pair have finally colluded to release a stunning combination of debut single ‘North Sea Fret’ and album ‘Midnight Sun’.

The single, which you can hear above, is a very strong indication of what you can expect from the album, which you can find on Bandcamp –

Classy, different, well-produced and meticulous, it shows fine musicianship and well structured arrangement of genuine talent. Fingers crossed for more singles to come.
